Feature & Follow is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read. The purpose is to meet  people and gain more  followers in the book blogging community.

Q: Activity! Who do you want to be? If you could choose any character from a book. What do you think that character looks like and what do you have in common?

Jane Eyre!  I admire her character so much, and would love to experience the intense romance she has with Mr. Rochester.  The trials she endures are unenviable, but for the rewards well worth it. :)  I'd like to think that Jane and I are both logical, level-headed, with a wry sense of humor and I think I'm pretty intelligent.  Jane from the book is small with brown hair and green eyes.  She's plain and unassuming, and from other characters can look child-like or fairy-like.   No actress in an adaptation has quite captured that, but for my taste I like Mia Wasikowska's look from the 2011 film the best.

  1. Great pick! I'm a fan of Jane Eyre too! Have you read the modern retelling, Jane, by April Lindner? I hear it's pretty good!

  2. Jane Eyre is a pretty awesome character. One of my favorite things about Jane is also her level-headedness. I liked Mia as Jane quite a lot in the movie.

  8. Jane has to go through so much! But I really admire most among the "classic chic-lit" characters, above a lot of Jane Austen's heroines, because of her amazing love for Mr. Rochester and her hard-working, genuine personality. Good choice. I recently bought a copy of Jane Eyre w/ a cover from the 2011 film, but haven't seen it yet-- really want to! New follower following you back-- love your blog and your perfect blog name. :)

I actually have never read Jane Eyre. I'm not much for the classics but I really want to at least try to read them. I need to get on that.

  10. Ooh, that's a really good answer =) I would expect a lot of people to pick a character with a pretty easy life, but you definitely haven't!

I haven't seen that newest version of Jane Eyre. I think they did a good job with her character though - she does look fairly 'plain'.

  14. Good choice. For some reason that picture reminded me of Anne of Green Gables. I would like to be her as well. I think I'm going to go change my answer.
