Another bit of wisdom from Jane Eyre. I believe it is up to us to be happy in the simplest sense. We can make the decision to do what will bring us happiness. Stretch out our hand for it, as it were. And I've always liked why Mr. Rochester would say that to Jane - he wanted her to show some interest in him. So devious, and so cute. :)
Love this and I love that moment in the book!
ReplyDelete:D The Gypsy scene has so many great moments!

DeleteI love this quote. I really hate myself for not wanting to read any of Jane Austen's works until now. This is such a lovely quote, I think I'm going to pick up Jane Eyre first. No, Pride and Prejudice. Oh, I'm just making things harder. Which one is your personal best from her?

Oh definitely pick up Jane Eyre first! :D I think it is much better than Pride and Prejudice, though Jane Eyre is by Charlotte Bronte, not Jane Austen. :) From Jane Austen though.... I'm not sure I have a favorite book by her. I haven't read all of them, so I need to do that first. I've always enjoyed the most recent adaptation of Northanger Abbey the most out of all her book to film adaptations. If that counts...
DeleteThanks for the follow! I've followed back!

DeleteThis is such an awesome quote! I do love the idea of happiness being just a little out of reach, that you just have to reach out to grab it. To decide to reach out and grab it. To choose to be happy. I love it! I know what my choice is :)
ReplyDeleteMe too! I'm going reach out. :) Thanks for stopping by!
